Your MiWorkspace device comes with a standard set of software already installed, including tools used across the university and within your unit.
Software Included with Your Computer
Every MiWorkspace device includes standard software tested for compatibility with U-M systems. Your unit may also have additional software pre-installed for you based on the needs of your team.
Installing Additional Software
Need something beyond what's pre-loaded? You have several ways to find and install additional software.
Self-Service Software
View the Self-Service Software Catalog for a complete list of MiWorkspace-supported Windows and Mac applications that are available for you to self-install at any time.
The software you see when you open Software Center / Managed Software Center on your device is customized for your unit, including units that also subscribe to the UmichITAM service.
Specialty Software
MiWorkspace Full customers can request specialty software by contacting the ITS Service Center if it isn't available in the standard package or the self-service catalog. Depending on cost, licensing, or other factors, the ITS Service Center or your Neighborhood IT team may follow up with your unit's software approver.
MiWorkspace Core customers can contact their Unit IT to inquire about specialty software.
Unit IT staff can submit requests for MiWorkspace to package additional software titles. Units are responsible for the purchase and licensing of unit-specific software.
Software and Security Updates
Software and security updates are delivered to your MiWorkspace computer automatically. See more about software and security updates.
Upgrade Your Operating System
MiWorkspace tests all operating system (OS) releases for compatibility with U-M networks, administrative systems, and software before making them available to you. See more about upgrading your operating system.
