How to Use the AFS Unit Websites Dashboard

The Dashboard for your unit websites is organized from top to bottom based on the project team’s suggested order in which to complete the upgrades. As you upgrade your websites, they will be moved down to the sections until all necessary upgrades are complete and your websites are “healthy.”

Note: If there are any websites that should not be listed under your unit or there are some that are missing, please fill out the ITS Web Hosting Upgrade Form and provide the names of websites that should be removed or added. If your unit view says No Visible Records this means the project team does not have any AFS Websites associated with your unit on record.

The Dashboard provides the following health information about each website:

PHP Upgrade Required?

All websites need to be upgraded to PHP 7.3 or PHP 8.1. The Dashboard will display the following status:

  • Yes: The website is not running on PHP 7.3 or PHP 8.1 and needs to be upgraded.
  • No: The website is running on PHP 7.3 or PHP 8.1 and no upgrade is needed at this time.

Migrate HTTP to HTTPS

If any webpage on your website uses HTTP, it needs to be migrated to use HTTPS. The Dashboard will display the following status:

  • Yes: The website has generated HTTP traffic and needs to be upgraded to use HTTPS for the entire website.
  • No: The website has all HTTP traffic redirected to HTTPS and no upgrade is needed at this time.
  • Owner to verify: There has not been any HTTP traffic in the last two weeks but there is also no indication that the website is redirecting all HTTP traffic to HTTPS. You may also see this status if the website did not have any traffic in the last two weeks.

WordPress/Drupal Upgrade Required?

If your website uses WordPress or Drupal, the Dashboard will show the following status:

  • Yes: The website is not using a current version of WordPress or Drupal. You can determine the current version of WordPress or Drupal by going to Get  WordPress or the Drupal website.
  • No: The website is using a current version of WordPress or Drupal, or the website does not use WordPress or Drupal.

Migrate Off Cosign?

The Dashboard will show the following status:

  • Yes: The website needs to migrate off of Cosign.
  • No: The website is not using Cosign and no upgrade is needed.

This column will provide a link to the web page that will provide information to help you make your upgrade.

Current MCommunity Group

This is the current Mcommunity group that the project team shows associated with the website and will be used to communicate to website owners about necessary upgrades. If this is blank, or is not the correct MCommunity group, please fill out the ITS Web Hosting Upgrade Form to notify the project team of the correct MCommunity Group that should be associated with the website.

Note: Websites listed under AWS Redirect Service have been set up as a redirect, and a website listed under the Decommission section means that the website has been removed from AFS Web Hosting.
