Andrew Robbins

Research Applications Specialist

Andrew Robbins is a member of the software support team for Advanced Research Computing (ARC), a division of Information and Technology Services (ITS).

Prior to joining ARC, Robbins was a bioinformatics assistant for the Welch, Castro-Lowenstein, and Abdel-Latif labs in various capacities

Robbins was awarded a BA in biochemistry and music from Case Western Reserve University in partnership with the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2022. He is still working on his University of Michigan bioinformatics MS part-time, but hopes to be done by 2027!

Outside of his educational background, he is a lifelong computing hobbyist turned (mostly) self-taught programmer, has contributed to several open source projects, and maintains several CRAN and conda-forge packages.

In his free time, Robbins sings with the UMS Choral Union and spends a bit too much time on software side projects.
